Description
A brass circular garden sundial face cast with decorative relief elements. The dial is arranged in concentric bands, the outermost displaying Roman numeral hour markers. A middle band depicts the twelve symbols of the zodiac, while the centre features a radiating sunburst pattern around a recessed gnomon slot with two pre-drilled attachment holes. The base is finished with a compass rose indicating the cardinal directions North, East, South, and West. The reverse shows a cast grid of reinforcing ribs and several circular mounting points. The metal exhibits a dark weathered patina with areas of verdigris and soil residue. No maker’s marks or signatures are present.

Condition report:
The gnomon is missing from the central slot (photo 1). A significant structural crack is visible running from the outer edge between Roman numerals X and XI inward toward the centre (photo 1). The surface shows heavy weathering, oxidation, and verdigris consistent with prolonged outdoor use (photos 1 and 2).
