Description
An Art Deco Bronze sculpture featuring a semi-nude female hoop dancer by Dominique Alonzo. The athletic figure is captured in a dynamic balancing pose on her right leg with the left leg raised through a large circular metal hoop. She is dressed in a short textured skirt and a matching headband, with the bronze finished in a dark brown patina. The sculpture is mounted on an integral circular bronze base which rests upon a cylindrical rouge marble plinth with white veining. This assembly is set into a stepped black circular base. The bronze base features the incised signature D.Alonzo and a circular foundry stamp reading BRONZE GARANTI PARIS J.B. DEPOSÉE.

Condition report:
The bronze sculpture presents in good condition with a uniform dark brown patina and only minor age-related rubbing to the high points of the hair and skirt (photo 1). The metal hoop remains intact with light surface oxidisation consistent with age (photo 2). The rouge marble plinth and the black stepped base show no visible chips, cracks, or significant abrasions (photo 1, photo 4). The incised signature and foundry seal on the bronze base are clear and legible (photo 3).
