Description
A collection of French military parachutist insignia comprising a Silver and Gold badge and two embroidered cloth patches. The Silver and Gold badge features a central parachute with vertical shrouds, flanked by stylized horizontal wings and topped by a five-pointed star set within a wreath of oak and laurel. One cloth patch features silver and yellow embroidery on a black fabric ground, typically worn by French Naval Aviation and Gendarmerie units. The second cloth patch is a field version featuring black, grey, and yellow embroidery on a green fabric ground. These pieces represent the official Brevet de Parachutiste Militaire pattern established in 1946 for the French Armed Forces. No maker marks or inscriptions are visible.
Condition report:
Light surface oxidation and minor scratching are visible on the Silver and Gold badge (photo 1). Fraying is present along the edges of the black cloth patch (photo 1). The green cloth patch displays significant fraying to the perimeter and pilling of the embroidery thread (photo 1).
