Lot 94:
Description
A collection of figurines featuring a variety of iconographic styles and materials including cast bronze, glazed ceramic, and moulded composition. The group comprises a Thai-style seated Buddha in bronze colour with a dark patina, depicted in the bhumisparsha mudra with a flame-topped ushnisha. A Chinese Hotei is rendered in polychrome glazed ceramic, holding a longevity peach and an alms bowl while dressed in white robes. A second seated Hotei is cast in bronze with mala beads and a dark finish. The collection is completed by a reclining Parinirvana Buddha in a dark composition material, featuring an intricately carved floral robe and resting on a plinth with relief-carved characters in a Brahmic-derived script that are not legible.
Length: 35.5 cm.
Condition report:
The collection appears in good condition with minor surface dust visible throughout (photo 1). Light surface wear and small areas of rubbing to the patinated finishes are consistent with display (photo 2). No chips, cracks, or repairs are visible to the ceramic or composition elements.
