Description
A Victorian style wood footstool featuring a circular dark-stained base with four integral squat feet. The top is upholstered with a hand-embroidered crewelwork panel on a cream linen ground. The needlework depicts a stylized Jacobean revival floral arrangement including a large central blossom in shades of ochre and dusty pink, surrounded by scrolling foliage and smaller blossoms in sage green, tan, and brown wool yarn. The base is finished with a dark mahogany-coloured stain. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the base or upholstery.

Condition report:
The dark-stained wooden base shows significant cosmetic wear including numerous scuffs, nicks, and chips to the finish around the entire circumference and on the feet (photo 1). The embroidered top is in good condition with minor surface soiling and age-related toning (photo 2).
