Description
A collection of vintage paper and cardboard ephemera comprising industrial safety signage and alcohol advertising posters. The group features a historical document from the Derby Co-operative Provident Society, Ltd. titled Scale of Wages For Apprentices in Distributive Depts., detailing weekly pay for workers aged 14 to 21, signed in print by J. B. Rest, Secretary. Industrial items include a small cardboard sign printed in red and black reading DANGER KEEP OUT THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. LTD. and a large paper warning sign reading DANGER KEEP AWAY in red block lettering.
The advertising materials include a 1970s promotional poster for a Harvey Wallbanger cocktail featuring a cartoon character, including the Barclaycard Visa logo. A black and white poster for Breaker Real Malt Liquor depicts a silent-film style railway scene. A large colour poster commemorates the Martini Porsche 935 and 936 racing season of 1976, featuring drivers Jochen Mass and Jacky Ickx, with text in French identifying it as Poster No. 12 printed in France. Various items bear secondary white adhesive labels printed with the text ADVANCE Towelmaster and a pink arrow logo.

Condition report:
The collection shows significant signs of age and use throughout. All items exhibit heavy creasing from being folded (photos 1, 2, 4, 5). The Derby wage scale document shows tanning, edge wear, and surface staining (photo 6). The English Electric sign has a small loss to the top left corner, surface soiling, and two punched holes at the top edge with original string attached (photo 7). The Harvey Wallbanger and Breaker posters show heavy horizontal and vertical fold lines with some surface pigment loss along the creases (photos 2, 3). The Martini Porsche poster has multiple heavy fold lines and edge wear (photo 5). Several items have non-original adhesive labels applied to the front surfaces (photos 2, 4, 7).
