Description
A collection of vintage metal and wood harmonicas comprising various models and makers, each presented in a period case. The group includes a curved Hohner Unsere Lieblinge tremolo harmonica, featuring chrome-plated cover plates with embossed lettering and a wood comb. The interior of the pink-lined case bears a red and white label for HOHNER HARMONIKAS featuring a portrait of M. Hohner and a graphic of several medals, with text including M. Hohner and Made in Germany. The collection further features three Hero harmonicas, including a chromatic model in a blue and white case with Chinese characters and the word Hero on the cover plate, and two standard models in white cases, one with a yellow adhesive label. Also included is a Blessing harmonica and a Weekender International model, both featuring chrome-plated covers and wood combs. The cover plates across the collection feature various embossed and engraved inscriptions including Hero HARMONICA MADE IN CHINA, Blessing MADE IN CHINA, and WEEKENDER INTERNATIONAL.

Condition report:
The collection shows evidence of varied use and age. The Hohner model exhibits light surface scratches to the chrome plates (photo 1). The Hero chromatic harmonica shows some green oxidation or residue near the mouthpiece (photo 1). The Blessing and Weekender models show more significant surface wear, including scratching, pitting, and oxidation to the metal cover plates (photo 1). The Blessing model shows some splitting or wear to the wood comb (photo 1). The cases exhibit typical shelf wear, including fraying to the internal fabric linings, surface scuffing, and minor losses to the paper coverings (photo 1).
