Description

A diverse collection of miniature novelty and desk clocks featuring various forms and materials. The assortment includes die-cast metal novelty pieces such as a motorcycle with a clock set into the engine casing, a vintage-style rotary telephone, an automotive steering wheel, a silver teapot, and a slender grandfather clock. The lot contains several examples set in faceted crystal and clear acrylic blocks, including a large square block with a rectangular dial and a frosted and clear glass sculpture of two leaping dolphins. One clock is housed in its original grey textured box, with the lid bearing the silver printed name Waterford Crystal. Further items include multiple small arched and rectangular carriage-style clocks, a red-cased circular desk clock, a white ceramic clock with blue floral decoration, and a large silver rectangular clock with a circular dial. The collection is completed by travel-style pieces, including one in a pink faux-leather hinged case, a brushed-metal sliding travel clock, and a large clock mounted on a wide brown leather strap. Dials throughout the collection are primarily white or gold with Roman or Arabic numerals, with many bearing the printed mark Quartz. A wooden ruler is visible behind the items, positioned with the inch scale uppermost.

Condition report:

The collection is in varied condition with visible surface wear across multiple items. Surface scratches are present on the acrylic and crystal blocks, and the metal finishes on the carriage clocks and novelty pieces show signs of dust accumulation and minor tarnishing. One miniature clock appears to be missing its hands. The working status of the quartz and mechanical movements has not been confirmed, and battery-operated examples likely require replacements. The Waterford Crystal box shows minor shelf wear to the edges.
