Description
A collection of vintage items comprising an Italian Silver commemorative medal, a Soviet-era gilt and enamel lapel badge, and a French lithographed tin. The circular Silver medal features the profile bust of a male figure in relief, surrounded by the circumscription VITTORIO EMANUELE III RE D’ITALIA, and is fitted with an integral rectangular ribbon loop. The Soviet pin is of circular form in gilt metal with hard enamel decoration, depicting a stylized rocket and globe with the number 5, bordered by a red band with the Cyrillic text БАЙКОНУР. The rectangular tinplate confectionery container features a hinged lid with a cream and blue lithographed design, reading PASTILLES, VICHY ETAT and VICHY-ETAT, with a repeating circular logo to the sides. The interior shows the natural metal finish.
Condition report:
The medal exhibits surface tarnishing and moderate wear to the high points of the relief, with a slightly distorted ribbon loop (photo 2). The lapel pin remains in good condition with vibrant enamel and minor surface scratches to the gilt border (photo 3). The tin displays significant signs of age including surface oxidation, pitting, and loss of the lithographed finish, particularly around the edges and on the lid (photo 1).
