Description
A vintage Mahogany hardwood truncheon featuring a turned construction with a distinctive ribbed grip section. The piece is designed with a rounded pommel at the base and a smooth cylindrical striking end. A brown leather wrist strap is secured to the handle by a metal collar and a single rivet. The hardwood body is finished in a dark reddish-brown polish. No maker’s marks, unit stamps, or names are visible on the object. The metal rivet and collar show signs of oxidation.

Condition report:
The truncheon shows signs of service wear consistent with age. The striking end exhibits numerous small scuffs, scratches, and minor indentations to the wood surface. The finish shows thinning and darkening in areas of handling. The leather strap is intact but dry, exhibiting surface cracking and wear. The metal fixings show surface oxidation.
