Description
A mixed collection of vintage darts featuring varying constructions including brass, wood, and composite materials. The group includes a set of four darts with brass barrels and wooden cane shafts housed in a brown patterned leather pouch. A second set comprises three darts with brass barrels and black and red feathered flights, contained in a translucent blue plastic case marked in raised lettering with K W I Z at the top and bottom. A further set consists of three darts with dark wooden composite shafts and integral green plastic flights, mounted on a white plastic stand. Also present is a set of three darts with simple brass barrels and steel points in a tan leather case featuring a small Union Jack ribbon accent. The collection also includes a set of three modern style darts with knurled brass barrels in a black soft case printed with a circular logo reading J O H N S. A final set of three darts with brass barrels and red feathered flights is held in a blue plastic tray, accompanied by a single brass barrel dart in a clear plastic tubular case with a red base.
Length: 12 cm to 15 cm.
Condition report:
The collection exhibits age related wear throughout. The brass barrels show significant tarnish and oxidation across all sets. The feathered flights on the Kwiz set and the blue tray set show fraying, loss of form, and feather loss. The leather cases exhibit scuffing to the surfaces and wear to the stitching. The wooden cane shafts on the leftmost set show darkening and surface abrasions. Steel points across the collection show varying degrees of surface oxidation.
