Description
A pair of antique mantel clocks comprising an oak balloon-style clock and a mahogany Napoleon hat tambour clock. The balloon clock features a curved oak case standing on four brass ball feet, decorated with a central marquetry patera inlay in contrasting woods to the lower front. The white dial is set with black Arabic numerals and a railroad-style minute track, featuring Breguet-style moon hands. The mechanical movement utilizes a balance wheel and the backplate is stamped with a stylized crown over intertwined C and G characters, above the text MADE IN FRANCE. A regulator lever is present marked with the letters S, F, R, and A.
The second item is a tambour clock in a stained mahogany case with decorative stringing and light wood scroll-work inlays. It features a white dial with black Roman numerals and ornate spade hands protected by a convex glass lens in a metal bezel. The brass backplate includes a regulator slot marked with + and – indicators. A winding key is present. Both clocks are accompanied by their detached rear metal dust covers.

Condition report:
The oak balloon clock shows minor surface scuffs and age-related wear to the wood case (photo 1). The brass bezel displays areas of tarnishing and the rear dust cover is detached (photo 2). The mahogany tambour clock case has multiple visible scratches and white scuff marks, particularly to the right side and base (photo 1). The brass movement shows significant oxidation and surface grime (photo 2). Both clocks are sold as untested.
