Lot 76:
Description
A 19th century oak coopered planter of circular, tapering bucket form. The exterior displays a rich reddish-brown tone with pronounced vertical graining, bound by two broad brass straps secured with dome-headed pins. The interior is unlined and darkened from historical use.
Height: 28 cm
Diameter: 30.5 cm.
Condition report:
Good antique condition. Light surface scuffs, scratches, and minor handling wear to the exterior oak. Natural tarnishing and surface oxidisation to the brass bands. The interior exhibits significant darkening and marks consistent with age and previous use as a planter.
