Description

A pair of antique mantel clocks comprising an oak balloon-style clock and a mahogany Napoleon hat tambour clock. The balloon clock features a curved oak case standing on four brass ball feet, decorated with a central marquetry patera inlay in contrasting woods to the lower front. The white dial is set with black Arabic numerals and a railroad-style minute track, featuring Breguet-style moon hands. The mechanical movement utilizes a balance wheel and the backplate is stamped with a stylized crown over intertwined C and G characters, above the text MADE IN FRANCE. A regulator lever is present marked with the letters S, F, R, and A.

The second item is a tambour clock in a stained mahogany case with decorative stringing and light wood scroll-work inlays. It features a white dial with black Roman numerals and ornate spade hands protected by a convex glass lens in a metal bezel. The brass backplate includes a regulator slot marked with + and – indicators. A winding key is present. Both clocks are accompanied by their detached rear metal dust covers.
