Lot 150:
Description
A collection of late Victorian or Edwardian white cotton undergarments and textile fragments, featuring a central camisole or corset cover. The camisole is constructed with vertical pin-tucked panels to the front, interspersed with bands of openwork lace insertion. It features a scalloped lace trim to the neckline and armholes, and a drawstring channel at the waist with an integrated cord. The front closure comprises four mismatched buttons, including two white milk glass or plastic buttons, one dark composition button, and one metal-rimmed button. The assortment also includes a selection of lace-trimmed fabric remnants, featuring broderie anglaise eyelet embroidery and crochet-work edging, alongside a white cotton tie or sash. The fabrics are finished with delicate hand-worked and machine-stitched details characteristic of turn-of-the-century domestic linens.
