Lot 16:
Description
A Silver ovoid vase featuring dense hand-chased and engraved Ghalamzani decoration throughout. The body is ornamented with traditional Persian motifs, including two primary medallions depicting the Gul-o-Bulbul (Rose and Nightingale) theme, surrounded by intricate scrolling foliate patterns and arabesques against a textured ground. The flared neck leads to a rim finished with a beaded edge, and the vessel is supported by a short, circular stepped foot. The underside of the base bears two stamped marks: an oval cartouche containing Persian characters which are not legible as a name, and a square mark containing the numerals 84. The interior shows a darkened finish consistent with use.
Height: 13.3 cm.
