Description
A hand-carved bamboo system cane featuring a concealed sword mechanism. The handle is formed from a bamboo root knob, intricately carved with a textured, pitted pattern. The dark reddish-brown stained bamboo shaft is decorated with hand-etched incised carvings depicting various figures in traditional Japanese attire amongst pine needles and foliage. This pull-apart system feature reveals a long, tapered steel blade with a square cross-section. The cane is finished with a dark metal ferrule at the base. No visible maker marks or signatures are present on the handle, shaft, or blade.
