Description
A mid-20th-century mechanical stopwatch featuring a chrome plated base metal open-face case. The instrument is designed with a single top-mounted crown that controls start, stop, and reset functions, fitted with a circular bow. The white dial displays a 60-second outer track with Arabic numerals at five-second intervals and a sunken 30-minute register sub-dial located at the 12 o’clock position. The dial features a black baton handset and is printed with the maker’s name SMITHS above the 6 o’clock position, along with the text 1/5TH SECS. and MADE IN ENGLAND at the bottom edge. The sub-dial is marked MINS. The watch is accompanied by its original cardboard presentation box, which features red lettering to the lid reading SERVICE and a graphic logo.
