Description
A pair of promotional ceramic piggy banks manufactured for National Westminster Bank. The collection features two anthropomorphic characters: Lady Hilary and Annabel. Lady Hilary is modelled wearing a light blue blouse with a decorative bow and a black skirt, while carrying a grey handbag over her arm. Annabel is depicted in a school uniform consisting of a white shirt, a green pinafore dress, and a yellow and black striped tie. Both figures are finished in a high-gloss glaze. The base of the Lady Hilary figure features an impressed arched mark reading WADE followed by ENGLAND, and retains a black rubber stopper embossed with the NatWest logo and text. The Annabel figure also features an impressed arched mark reading WADE on one side and ENGLAND on the opposite side, with a black rubber stopper embossed with text reading MADE IN TAIWAN.
