Description
This is a 12-inch vinyl LP record jacket for the album titled The World: Original Cast starring Howdy Doody and Buffalo Bob. Produced by Leslee Productions for Pickwick International Presentations, Inc. (p.i.p.) and printed in the U.S.A. circa 1971. The front cover features a psychedelic-style caricature illustration of the puppet Howdy Doody positioned over a wood-grain effect background. The cover art is credited to Richard Timperio, with Frank Daniel as Art Director. The back cover features a continuation of the wood-grain motif with prominent white and black text. It lists the featured cast and historical figures included in the recording, such as Sir Winston Churchill, Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Nikita Khrushchev, and Fidel Castro. The sleeve displays the Leslee logo, featuring a standing figure next to script text, and the circular p.i.p. logo. Production credits include a script by Edward G. Kean, engineering by Jim Vickers, executive production by Les Haarsten, and associate production by Leslie Gates. The reverse is inscribed with the dedication Dedicated to the Peanut Gallery.
Condition report:
The sleeve is in good condition with moderate shelf wear. There is significant scuffing and whitening along all four edges and at the corners, consistent with age and storage. The front and back surfaces show light scuffing but remain generally clean. This assessment is for the sleeve only; the condition of the vinyl record is not included.
