Lot 118:
Description
Attributed to Unique Art Since 1996, this contemporary decorative table lamp features an illuminated globe constructed with a detailed gemstone inlay. The oceans are represented by a mottled green mineral, likely aventurine, while the landmasses are formed from various contrasting polished semi-precious stones. The globe surface is printed with bilingual geographical notations in both English and Chinese script, including Pacific Ocean, North, Micronesia, Federated States of Micronesia, Northern Marianas, Guam (U.S.A.), and Wake (U.S.A.). The globe is mounted within a polished brass-tone metal armillary-style frame, surmounted by a faceted clear crystal finial. The assembly is supported by a multi-columnar metal stand on a circular, stepped wooden base with a reddish-brown finish. The lamp is fitted with a black power cord featuring an inline on/off switch and a two-pin European Type C plug.
Condition report:
The lamp appears to be in good overall condition. The gemstone inlay is intact with no visible chips or missing sections. The metalwork retains a bright finish with only minor surface wear and light tarnishing consistent with decorative use. The wooden base shows negligible wear. The electrical components are sold as untested, and professional inspection is recommended before use. Note for UK buyers: this item features a European plug and will require an adapter or replacement for use with UK sockets.
