The item features a flared rim above a tapered stem with a decorative central band, resting on a circular stepped base. The construction is weighted with a wooden core to the underside to provide stability to the thin gauge silver. The lower edge of the base is struck with a full set of British hallmarks including the maker mark I B and S, the anchor assay office mark for Birmingham, the lion passant standard mark for sterling silver, and the date letter U for the year 1944.
Height: 11.5 cm.
Condition report:
The candlestick shows surface wear and fine scratching throughout consistent with age and handling. There are several small indentations and minor dings visible to the flared rim and the stepped base. The wooden weighting to the underside is intact and remains securely fitted.
