Description
An extensive collection of over 150 vintage advertising stick pins and badges, primarily of mid-20th-century Dutch origin. The collection includes a significant series for the confectionery brand C. Jamin featuring 19th-century fashion illustrations. Other represented brands include Hero, Calve, Unox, Iglo, Parein, Knorr, Victoria, Princess, Erdal, and Turkstra. Automotive and technical badges include examples for Lambretta, Daimler, Panther, Norman, and Breda. Also present is a Royal Leamington Spa Angling Association centenary badge (1890-1990), Motability Accredited pins, and several commemorative poppy pins. The majority are mounted on a white perforated display board.
The lot further includes a Zeiss Ikon Ikophot selenium cell light meter, marked with DIN and ASA scales, housed in its original brown leather protective case embossed with the Zeiss Ikon Stuttgart logo.
The assortment of miniature collectables comprises a vintage red Meggezones antiseptic tin, a small black decorative tin, and various metal figurines including a gentleman in period dress, a squirrel, a cat, a teddy bear, and ducks. Decorative items include a silver-tone double oval photograph frame with purple velvet backing, a miniature white egg on a stand, a silver-tone thimble, a shell-shaped dish, and a miniature evening bag. A set of miniature tools in a leather pouch and a green glass animal figurine are also included.
Condition report:
The pins are in generally good vintage condition with some instances of light surface wear, oxidation to the metal reverses, and minor fading to printed designs. The light meter leather case shows light scuffing consistent with age; the meter is untested for accuracy. The Meggezones tin exhibits surface scratches and wear. Metal miniatures show varying degrees of patina and tarnishing.
