This collection comprises approximately 23 enamel and metal lapel badges primarily documenting the 1984-1985 UK Miners Strike and the history of the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM). The group includes strike action and picket badges such as two Manvers N.U.M. Picket 84-85 examples, an Emley Moor Branch N.U.M. 1984-5 badge, and a Bullcliffe Wood Branch N.U.M. Miners Strike 1984-85 badge. Support groups are represented by the Cortonwood Womens Action Group 1984, Oxford Miners Support Group 1984-85, and an oval Ashfield Strikers Womens Support Group badge referencing Silverhill, Sutton, and Bentinck collieries. Regional and branch identity pieces include Clipstone Branch Union of Mineworkers, NUM Cotgrave Branch, and a Dirty 30 Ellistown NUM Strike 84/85 South Leicester badge.
