Lot 238:
Description
A collection of vintage items and tools housed in a light-toned wooden presentation box stamped Cristal Rose Louis Roederer. The lot includes a Salter’s Improved Spring Balance No. 2, Class II, with a brass faceplate and iron hook, marked to weigh 40 lbs. Also present is a German multi-section folding ruler with promotional text for Odenwalder Baumaschinen, a Greist mechanical sewing attachment, and various leatherworking tools including a rotary hole punch and an eyelet crimper. Barware components comprise six assorted bottle stoppers with decorative tops, ornate silver-toned grape shears featuring grapevine motifs, and a glass hydrometer with a red bulb. Additional collectibles include a carved dark wood African hair comb incised Jambo with elephant figures, a red-handled multi-tool folding knife, a miniature military-style dress sword letter opener, a small metal tin marked George & Co. London, and two novelty clocks styled as a golf green and a flip-phone.
Condition report:
The collection exhibits varying states of wear. The Salter scale and metal tin show significant age-related patina, surface oxidation, and wear. The wooden presentation box has minor surface scuffs but remains structurally sound. The modern novelty items and bottle stoppers appear in good aesthetic condition. All mechanical and electronic components are sold as untested.
