Lot 244:
Description
A mid-20th-century industrial pressurised blowtorch featuring a cylindrical brass fuel reservoir and an angled burner nozzle. The unit is constructed with a red-painted steel skeletal frame that provides protective support for the burner assembly and extends to form a ventilated pistol-grip handle. The reservoir is equipped with a top-mounted integrated plunger pump for manual pressurisation and a knurled filler cap featuring a central pressure release screw. The top of the filler cap is embossed with the instructional text FILL THREE PARTS FULL. Faint, illegible markings are present on the side of the brass canister. The design is characteristic of mid-century plumbing and soldering tools produced by European manufacturers.
Height of canister: approx. 12-14 cm
Overall length: approx. 20-23 cm.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. The brass components exhibit a natural aged patina with areas of tarnish and minor surface scratches consistent with industrial use. The red-painted steel frame shows visible wear and paint losses, particularly concentrated on the handle and along the edges of the support structure. The tool appears complete with its original pump and filler cap assembly. The mechanical functionality and the integrity of the internal seals remain untested.
