Description
A vintage electromechanical internal call or doorbell, likely of British origin. The unit consists of a mottled brown Bakelite housing mounted to a shaped Bakelite baseplate. The front of the casing is embossed with an oval mark containing the letters AP in serif font. The assembly includes a circular metal bell gong and an external metal striker arm. On the reverse, the baseplate features four screw-terminal connection points for wiring.
Condition report:
The Bakelite components exhibit surface wear, light scuffing, and a layer of dust consistent with age, but appear free of major cracks or chips. The metal gong shows significant surface pitting, oxidisation, and tarnish. The item is offered as an untested historical electrical fitting.
