Description
This lot comprises two smoking pipes of sitter design. The first pipe is a Mr Brog No. 52 Scoot, featuring a black rusticated finish on the bowl and shank. The rim and the flat base of the shank are finished in smooth red-stained wood. The underside of the shank bears a gold-stamped clover symbol and the inscription Mr Brog no 52 Scoot. It is fitted with a black tapered stem. The second pipe is a Danish-made sitter by Gardiner King, featuring a smooth, polished natural grain finish. The shank is stamped with Gardiner King and Made in Denmark. This pipe is fitted with a decorative off-white marbled acrylic stem with a tiered collar.
Condition report:
Both pipes are in used, estate condition. There is significant darkening and carbonised residue within the bowls and around the rims. The stems exhibit minor surface wear consistent with regular use.
