Description
A pair of inlaid gemstone globe paperweights, attributed to makers such as Kalifano or Unique Art. Each sphere is constructed with various semi-precious stone fragments representing landmasses, set within a polished resin matrix. One globe features a dark grey-toned matrix, while the other features a reddish-brown matrix. The globes are decorated with gold-toned grid lines for latitude and longitude and are labelled with geographical names in printed red and black text, including Africa, Asia, China, and Indian Ocean. The underside of each sphere is flattened and finished with a felt pad, one blue and one black. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
Diameter: approximately 7.5 cm (3 inches).
Condition report:
The globes appear to be in good condition with a high-gloss polished finish. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs are evident. Minor surface wear is consistent with age and use. The felt pads on the bases show light lint accumulation.
