The instrument is housed in a black moulded composite hemispherical bowl, mounted within a matching U-shaped gimballed bracket designed for bulkhead or pedestal mounting. The compass features a black face with a prominent white eight-point star compass rose. The rose is marked with cardinal points (N, E, S, W) and graduated in 20-degree increments from 0 to 340. A fixed outer bezel is graduated from 0 to 360 in 10-degree increments with cardinal points. The compass rose bears the printed text HEATH MARINE and LONDON ENGLAND. The housing is constructed from black composite plastic with a clear acrylic cover.
Condition report:
The instrument is in used condition with visible surface dust and minor scuffing to the exterior black housing. The clear cover shows some light surface scratches but remains transparent. The gimbal mechanism moves freely.
