Description
A miniature decorative model of a flintlock pistol, cast from a grey metal alloy. The piece is designed in the style of an 18th-century French firearm. It features a decorative side plate and a bulbous pommel, both embellished with embossed floral scrollwork. The flintlock mechanism, comprising the hammer, frizzen, and pan, is represented in cast metal but remains non-functional. A simulated ramrod is integral to the casting beneath the barrel. This object is an ornamental reproduction and is not capable of firing. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible on the side plate or barrel.
Condition report:
The item exhibits surface wear and darkening to the metal consistent with age. Minor oxidation is present across the surface. The casting shows some small imperfections. The mechanism is fixed and intended for display only.
