Description
An assortment of decorative wooden boxes and small chests constructed from various timbers including mahogany, oak, and stained softwoods. The group demonstrates a wide range of decorative techniques including parquetry, mother-of-pearl inlay, relief carving, and hand-painting. Notable items include a large square box with a red-painted finish featuring a floral and avian motif on the lid. A small barrel-form container is present with black metal strapping. One rectangular box features the branding MOTOR HARLEY-DAVIDSON CYCLES alongside a heart motif. A long rectangular box is labelled DRAWBRIDGE. A light-wood box bears a handwritten Italian inscription: 1. Comunione di Francesco Nori Reggello 13 maggio 2011. Other examples include a heart-shaped box, a small trunk with brass fittings and an anchor emblem, and a box with a relief-carved lid depicting a horse and chariot. Several pieces feature geometric inlays or burr wood veneers.

Large red floral box: approximately 23 cm square.
Condition report:
The collection shows varying degrees of wear consistent with age and previous use. Surface scuffing, scratches, and minor abrasions are present throughout the group. The large red painted box exhibits some loss of finish and chipping to the edges. Minor wood shrinkage and separation at the joints are visible on some pieces. Metal components show signs of oxidisation and tarnish.
