Description
A landscape painting by the artist Keith Byars, executed in oil on canvas board and dated 1994. The composition depicts a multi-arched stone bridge over a river, possibly Bolton Bridge, rendered with visible textured brushwork. The work is signed Keith Byars and dated 94 in the lower-left corner.
The lot also includes a framed limited edition print, likely an offset lithograph after a watercolour, titled Late Afternoon, Elterwater. This landscape depicts the Langdale Pikes reflected in the water in the Lake District. The print is numbered 15/350 and titled in pencil along the lower margin. It is presented in a gilt-effect wooden frame with a cream double card mount.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good overall condition. The framed print shows no obvious signs of foxing, toning, or fading to the paper or image. The frame and mount are well-preserved with only minor surface marks. The oil painting on canvas board is stable with no visible signs of paint loss, cracking, or restoration.
