Description
This Toyo Model CHR-404 portable 8-track stereo recorder and player features an integrated AM/FM multiplex radio. The unit is housed in a grey folding briefcase-style casing with textured orange fabric speaker grilles. The control panel includes a program selector for channels 1 to 4, a fast-forward switch, a radio/tape selector, and tuning dials. A top-mounted carrying handle is present, along with an attached power cord. The reverse panel contains a label specifying a power supply of AC 120V, 60Hz, 25W or 12V battery power, with a maximum output power of 3W (1.5W per channel). The base is embossed with MADE IN JAPAN.
Condition report:
The item exhibits cosmetic wear consistent with age, including surface scuffs to the plastic casing and dust accumulation. There is minor staining and discolouration on the orange speaker fabric. The rear battery compartment cover is missing. The unit is sold as untested; its power-on status and functional performance have not been demonstrated.
