Description
This collection of vintage sports equipment includes multiple sets of darts manufactured in Great Britain. One set is presented in an original red and white Unicorn Products Ltd cardboard box, bearing the model stamp CF 4. These darts are constructed with brass barrels featuring knurled grips and mottled feather flights. Another set is housed in a Millard Brothers Ltd green plastic case, consisting of brass barrels with knurled grips and white plastic stems fitted with bi-coloured feather flights. The collection also contains a set of promotional darts for the Britvic brand, held in a black leatherette pouch with a gold-tone metal badge. A set of torpedo-style brass darts with ringed grips and white feather flights is stored in a purple velvet-lined hard-shell case. A further set of modern-style darts is finished in black with multiple ringed grips. Materials include brass, steel, plastic, feather, leatherette, and cardboard.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of age and use consistent with vintage pub games equipment. The brass barrels across all sets display surface oxidisation and patination. Feather flights show ruffling, wear, and some loss of barbs. The Unicorn cardboard box has corner scuffs and some staining. The velvet-lined case exhibits significant external wear to the outer covering. General surface wear is present on the leatherette pouch and plastic case.
