Description
A vintage mid-20th century point-of-sale advertising sign for Grenson Footmaster shoes, printed on a cardboard panel. The display features a vertical blue section to the left, depicting a tan leather shoe with a tag reading A GOOD SHOE and an illustration of the shoe sole. The right section has a white ground with a heraldic crest positioned above the brand name GRENSON in red serif lettering and Footmaster in script. Below this is the text you can never hide the quality of The GOOD LEATHER SHOE in black. The shoe soles in the illustration bear printed marks for GRENSON and MADE IN ENGLAND. The sign is constructed with a printed paper face applied to a corrugated cardboard backing.
Condition report:
The sign displays age-related wear, including bumped and worn corners, minor creasing to the edges, and scattered surface abrasions. The reverse shows the corrugated structure with some light marks and age-related discolouration.
