Description
A collection of vintage lead and white metal miniature toy figures comprising military and civilian subjects. The military figures include several British Foot Guardsmen depicted in ceremonial dress with red tunics and black bearskin hats, alongside various unpainted figures in historical military uniforms. Civilian subjects include a jockey in yellow silks mounted on a black horse, a female figure in a floor-length dress, and a larger-scale firefighter figure positioned beside a water pump. These figures are produced in the hollowcast and solid metal styles characteristic of mid-20th-century British toy manufacturers. No maker’s marks are visible on the items. The collection is housed in a modern repurposed cardboard box for a tabletop game.
Condition report:
The collection is in play-worn condition. Significant paint loss and chipping are evident across the decorated figures. Several figures are unpainted or have been stripped of their original finish. Physical damage is present, including bent or missing extremities and rifle barrels, consistent with age and use.
