Description

A cast and polished brass desk model of a Boulton Paul Defiant fighter aircraft, a British interceptor used by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. The model features the aircraft’s distinctive low-wing monoplane profile and is characterised by the inclusion of the prominent four-gun dorsal turret located behind the cockpit. It is fitted with a semi-circular clear acrylic or plastic disc at the nose to simulate a spinning propeller. The aircraft is mounted via a brass support rod onto a square, stepped wooden plinth base. The brass has a polished finish with areas of natural patination. No maker’s marks, inscriptions, or hallmarks are visible on the aircraft or base.

Length: approximately 19 cm. Wingspan: approximately 24 cm.

Condition report:

The item is in good vintage condition. The brass surfaces show minor surface wear, light scratches, and small areas of natural tarnishing consistent with age. The simulated propeller disc remains intact. The wooden base shows light surface scuffing and minor wear to the finish on the edges.
