Description
A folding sun hat, also known as a pocket or fan hat, designed for compact storage and portability. The framework is composed of multiple flexible bamboo slats connected to a central wooden pivot bar. The hat is covered with a printed textile featuring a vibrant batik-style pattern of scrolling floral motifs in shades of deep red, navy blue, ochre, and green. It can be fully expanded into a wide-brimmed circular shape or collapsed into a curved, crescent form. A small elastic loop is integrated into the design to secure the hat when folded. A metal pin at the centre holds the slats together. No maker’s marks or brand labels are visible.
Condition report:
The item appears to be in good, functional condition. There are no visible tears or holes in the fabric, and the bamboo slats are intact without breaks. The folding mechanism and elastic closure are in working order.
