Lot 149:
Description
This lot comprises two mid-20th century mechanical toys produced in the Nuremberg region of West Germany. The first item is a transport toy by Michael Seidel, featuring a lithographed landscape base with circular tracks, a central garden tunnel, and two terminal stations with chequered roofs. The toy includes several small tin vehicles such as buses and cars. The manufacturer mark, featuring the letters M and S intertwined within a circle, is located on the front vertical panel. The second item is a train set by Technofix (Gebrüder Einfalt), designed with a figure-eight track layout on a cream and green base. It includes a central station tunnel and two flanking stations with clock tower details. A multi-part articulated express train is present on the track. The Technofix logo, showing a circle with a horizontal line and stylized GE symbol, is visible on the track surface. Both toys are made from lithographed tinplate and contain internal clockwork mechanisms with external winding spindles and start/stop levers.
Approximate length (Michael Seidel toy): 23 cm.
Condition report:
Both items show typical signs of age and play use, including surface scratches, scuffing, and minor oxidation, particularly along the edges and track paths. The lithography remains generally bright and vibrant. The clockwork mechanisms and control levers are present but have not been tested for function. No original packaging is present.
