Description

A Ronson Penciliter combination mechanical pencil and petrol lighter. The instrument features a two-part body construction. The upper barrel is made from a silver-toned metal, decorated with an engine-turned barleycorn pattern of small rectangles. The lower grip section consists of a tapered black barrel, likely manufactured from resin or celluloid, terminating in a polished metal conical tip. The item includes an integrated pocket clip which also serves as part of the lighter mechanism.

The mechanical pencil is operated by a twist mechanism at the mid-section. The upper portion contains a flint-and-wick petrol lighter with a lever-action mechanism.

The pocket clip is stamped with the word RONSON. The upper barrel, near the lighter assembly, is stamped with RONSON and NEWARK N.J. U.S.A.

Condition report:

The item is in good vintage condition showing signs of age and use. There are light surface scratches and micro-pitting present on the silver-toned metalwork. The black grip section displays minor surface wear. The lighter mechanism appears complete with the striker wheel and flint screw intact, although the internal wick and functionality are untested. No cracks are visible on the black barrel.
