Description

A miniature bronze reproduction of the Hellenistic sculpture known as the Venus de Milo, produced by Editions Atlas. The figure is cast in bronze using the traditional lost-wax (cire perdue) method and finished with a dark brown patina. The sculpture is mounted on a tiered black rectangular base featuring a gold-tone plaque inscribed with the title VENUS DE MILO, the date 200 av J.C-Antiquité grecque, and the material Reproduction en bronze. The lot includes a numbered certificate of authenticity from Editions Atlas bearing the number NA 3694. The item is housed in a black textured cardboard box from the same publisher; however, the box is mismatched and is labelled for L’esclave mourant (The Dying Slave) after Michelangelo.

Bronze height: approx. 12 cm.

Condition report:

The sculpture and base appear to be in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The bronze patina is well-preserved. The certificate is in good condition. The box shows minor surface wear and is noted as being mismatched to the included sculpture.
