Description
A group of decorative items featuring several eggs and a single pedestal stand. The assortment includes a large egg, likely ostrich, embellished with applied stitched leather bands in varying brown tones. Also included are two hand-painted wooden eggs with a lacquer finish. The larger lacquered egg depicts a traditional Russian winter landscape, featuring a horse-drawn troika, snow-covered buildings, and figures in folk costume. This egg is presented on a fluted pedestal stand with a scalloped rim and a distressed white-wash finish. The second, smaller lacquered egg features a hand-painted scene of a building within a landscape on a dark ground. Both lacquered eggs exhibit fine brushwork consistent with traditional Russian folk art styles. No signatures, maker’s marks, or inscriptions are visible on any of the pieces.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition. The larger leather-bound egg shows minor surface wear consistent with age. The lacquered eggs retain a high gloss with some light surface scratches. The pedestal stand has a deliberate distressed finish. No chips, cracks, or signs of restoration are evident.
