Lot 80:
Description
This collection of traditional Chinese items comprises various wellness products and decorative accessories, predominantly housed in their original presentation boxes. The lot features a Changzhou carved wooden comb set, consisting of two combs and a matching wooden pendant with a red silk tassel. These are presented in a rectangular wooden case with a yellow silk lining, with the interior lid featuring the printed characters Feng Zhi Ming Dai, Gong Shu Ming Bi, and Changzhou Shubi. There are three pairs of Chinese Baoding (exercise) balls: a pair of chrome-finished metal balls in a red silk-lined box containing a printed historical label; a pair of green enamel balls decorated with black and white Yin-Yang symbols in a blue fabric-covered box; and a pair of polished marbled stone balls in a cream patterned box, bearing a label identifying their origin as Taiyuan, Shanxi province. Completing the collection is a large folding hand fan with bamboo ribs and a painted leaf depicting a landscape with bamboo and floral blossoms. The fan has deep red-stained outer guards and is stored in a matching red-stained wooden presentation box.
Condition report:
The items are in generally good condition and appear well-preserved. The presentation boxes show signs of shelf wear, light scuffing, and minor age-related deterioration to the fabric linings and hinges.
