Description
A mid-20th-century Swiss-made dress watch by Chateau. The timepiece features a gold-plated case with a stainless steel snap-on back. The silvered dial is detailed with applied gold-tone baton hour markers and matching hands, with a subsidiary seconds dial positioned at 6 o’clock. The dial is signed Chateau, 17 Jewels, Incabloc, and Swiss Made. It is powered by a 17-jewel manual wind mechanical movement with shock protection. The watch is fitted to a black leather strap with a gold-tone buckle.
Case diameter: 34mm (excluding crown).
Condition report:
The watch shows significant signs of age and wear. The dial exhibits heavy spotting and patina throughout. The crystal and gold-plated case have numerous surface scratches and visible wear to the plating, particularly on the lugs and edges. The leather strap is heavily worn, cracked, and requires replacement. The movement is untested and its working order or timekeeping accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
