Description
A pair of vintage hurricane lanterns. The first lantern is finished in distressed blue paint. The base is embossed with three Chinese characters and the text MADE IN CHINA. It features a clear glass globe protected by a wire cage and a side-mounted carrying handle. The second lantern is a Feuerhand brand model, produced in Western Germany. The top chimney cap is embossed with the FEUER-HAND brand name. The base displays the text WESTERN GERMANY and the number 75. The fuel filler cap also bears circular embossed markings. This lantern has a heavily weathered metal surface with a pronounced rust patina. Both lanterns include glass globes and wire protective cages.
Height: Approximately 24cm – 26cm (excluding top handles).
Condition report:
The blue lantern shows significant wear to the paint finish with chipping and surface oxidation across the metal body. The glass globe is intact but contains soot residue. The German lantern exhibits extensive surface corrosion and a heavy rust patina throughout. The glass globe remains intact. Both lanterns appear structurally complete with filler caps and adjustment knobs present.
