Description
A varied collection of vintage and antique miscellaneous items and curiosities. The lot includes a group of smoking pipes, notably one with an intricately carved floral rose motif and a yellow-toned stem, two long-stemmed clay-style pipes with decorated bowls, and a small wooden pipe showing surface wear. Metalware features an ornate pair of brass-toned wick trimmers with scrollwork handles, small brass tongs, a lidded brass canister, and a rectangular hammered metal tray. Tools include a red multi-tool with a Swiss cross emblem, a wooden folding knife with a corkscrew, and a silver-toned metal whistle marked HALEX MADE IN ENGLAND. Decorative animal figurines are present, including two silver-toned dachshunds, a copper-coloured cat, a squirrel, an elephant, and a glass bird. A small brass-cased clock and a floral pattern thimble are included, alongside a bottle stopper with a pink stone terminal. Advertising ephemera comprises a large rectangular brass-coloured tin embossed with Nieuwerkerk’s TJOKLAT CAMÉE-PASTILLES and a seated figure, plus a miniature open tin.
Condition report:
Items are in mixed condition consistent with age and previous use. Visible surface tarnishing and oxidation are present on metal items. Pipes show signs of use, with one small wooden pipe missing a section of the mouthpiece. The Tjoklat tin exhibits surface wear and patina. Small figurines and the clock show minor surface scuffs and general age-related wear.
