Description
An eclectic collection comprising various decorative objects and utilitarian items. The group includes a Chinese cloisonné enamel vase of ovoid form, featuring a green ground decorated with bird and floral motifs and finished with a brass rim and foot. A four-draw terrestrial telescope is present, featuring a mahogany-clad main barrel and brass components. Scientific and educational items further include a small desk globe with German cartography, including the label Indischer Ozean, mounted on a cream plastic base. A set of camera lenses is housed in a zippered brown leather case, with markings for Carl Zeiss Jena and Tessar visible. Dining and barware includes a cased set of six silver-plated teaspoons with a pink silk and velvet-lined interior, several corkscrews including a rustic wood-handled example and a chrome-plated wing version, a bottle opener, metal tongs, and small spoons. A wooden folding ruler is also included. Metal figurines feature a large cast rooster with detailed plumage, a unicorn, a cherub musician, and various smaller miniatures. Masonic interest is represented by a blue-enamelled belt buckle featuring the Square and Compasses symbol and the word MASON. Miscellaneous items include a Legend of Kremlin vodka bottle in a book-style display, a ceramic boot-form trinket box, a gold-tone mesh evening purse, a cast iron turtle paperweight, a circular desk clock, and a glass bottle shaped like a vintage motor car. A metal desk bell is surmounted by a medallion inscribed with a portrait and the name DURST MELDER.
Condition report:
The items are in good vintage condition with signs of age and use. Natural patina and oxidation are visible on various metal surfaces. The leather and fabric cases show scuffing and minor wear to the interiors. Surface dirt and minor abrasions are present across the collection consistent with age.
