Description
An assortment of vintage items comprising three Enid Blyton Noddy Strip Books published by Sampson Low, Marston & Co., Ltd., including the titles Noddys Bag of Money, Noddy Gets into Trouble, and Noddys Car Gets a Squeak. The collection features a miniature blue clothbound volume titled Patience and Poker Patience Cards by The International Card Co., London, and a US postage stamp featuring Elvis Presley. Militaria includes a circular metal German event plaque inscribed Geländefahrt Quer Durch Mecklenburg with an eagle and swastika emblem, a British South Lancashire Regiment cap badge, an olive drab plastic angle-head flashlight, and a miniature die-cast camouflage aircraft. A comprehensive Oriental calligraphy set is housed in a silk-lined presentation box containing bamboo brushes, a decorated ink stick, porcelain accessories, and a stone ink palette. Smoking accessories include a silver-toned cigarette case engraved Sylvia and two pocket lighters. Decorative and novelty items include Russian Matryoshka dolls, a pair of green velvet-cased opera glasses, a carved wooden bottle stopper, a black lacquer box with gilt bird decoration, a wooden flute, a miniature portrait, and a small machine-woven fringed textile rug.
Condition report:
Items are in varied vintage condition consistent with age and use. Softcover books show edge wear, creasing, and some surface soiling. Metal components, including the cigarette case and commemorative plaque, exhibit surface oxidation, tarnishing, and light scratching. The calligraphy presentation box shows age-related internal staining and wear to the exterior. Decorative items show minor surface wear and occasional paint loss. The operational status of the lighters and flashlight has not been tested.
