Description
A collection comprising an Edwardian-style oak mantel clock, a Victorian-style cast iron lidded box, and a miniature architectural model. The clock is housed in an oak tambour-top case with a circular brass dial and Arabic numerals behind a glass front. The rear brass movement plate features a curved regulator slot marked S and F, alongside engraved trademarks comprising a stylised wheat ear to the left and a four-pointed star or cross to the right. The rectangular cast iron box stands on four foliate-scroll feet and is decorated in high relief with a central shield motif and ornate floral scrolls. It is fitted with a removable lid topped by a pinecone finial. The third item is a miniature cast metal model of a traditional Spanish horreo granary, featuring a hipped roof and raised balcony, mounted on a rectangular black and white veined marble plinth.
Condition report:
The cast iron box exhibits significant surface oxidation and red rust across the lid, feet, and interior. The oak clock case shows minor surface abrasions and signs of age consistent with use; the brass dial and movement plate have a natural dark patina. The architectural model shows some verdigris and tarnish to the metal surfaces; the marble base remains structurally sound with minor shelf wear and light nibbles to the edges. The functional condition of the clock movement has not been tested.
